Everything went according to plan when third rankedOkapi Aalst (22-8) outplayed at home 16th ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (9-21) 98-78 on Sunday. Aalst outrebounded Union Mons 44-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. Aalst looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Dante Maddox Jr (188, college: Xavier) notched 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Montenegrin Ivan Maras (207-1986) supported him with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Okapi Aalst's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds by American guard Malik Whitaker (198-2000, college: Fort Lewis, agency: Starting 5) did not help to save the game for Union Mons . Cuban-Belgian guard Sigfredo Casero-Ortiz (185-1997) added 18 points and 5 assists. Five Aalst and four Union Mons players scored in double figures. Okapi Aalst have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 22-8 record having just one point less than leader Antwerp. Union Mons lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth place with 21 games lost.
